Match Report A’s vs Dingoes
On 1st November it was Revolution Sharks vs Dingoes in both A and B Divisions. Sharks were well prepared with a match record bustling with fourteen players and two officials, the most people we’ve had sit on our bench so far this year! It was a cracker of a first period, with three goals to none – a period shut-out for our goalie No. 91 Jacob Stanley. A fantastic effort by all, we scored one shorthanded goal (no.11 David Westlund), and two full strength goals (No.2 Lucas Westlund, No.27 Keith Tan). No.9 Mauritz Hermansson was given a 2 minute bench penalty for “Playing Lying Down,” (13mins09) but it had no negative effect on our game: the Dingoes only took one shot during their Power Play while Sharks No.11 David Westlund managed a Short Handed goal (14mins46).
The second period saw the Sharks victorious again, and with another shut-out from Jake, at 4-0. Sharks No. 15 Espen Jorgensen started the scoring early in the period at 0mins28, assisted by Lucas. At 1min31 our No.11, David Westlund assisted the Dingoes in scoring an Own Goal. It was a long wait until the Swedish duo Mauritz and No.30 Jimmy Laurell put the ball into the net at 16mins48 (goal scorer No.9 Mauritz Hermansson, assisted by No.30 Jimmy Laurell). And not too long after that did Espen get his second goal for the match, assisted by David (17mins42).
The third period was intense. The Dingoes scored their first goal for the game late in the period at 14mins49 (goal scorer No.31 Niall Geddes, no assist.). Mauritz and No.46 from the Dingoes (Peter Morton) were each given a 2min bench penalty for “Roughing” and Ben Mitchell was given a 2 minute bench penalty for “High Stick”(16mins24, codes 504 and 206). This left the team down to three field players and Jake in goals. We held the Dingoes out, they didn’t score for the entirety of their Power Play. Upon Mauritz and Bens return to the rink Dingoes No.48 Andrew Cathie was given a 2min bench penalty for “Incorrect Hit,” (18mins53) which gave us a long-awaited chance to get the score board ticking over in our favour. Keith converted assisted by Jimmy in the last 30 seconds of the match (19mins30).
A great win!
8-1 (3-0, 4-0, 1-1)

Match Report v Dingoes B 1/11/09
The competition leaders played the Dingoes (2-1) in an early morning game. Sok decided to join the Dingoes as goalkeeper to try and stem the flow of goals as we are leading the competition in goals with 26. However, he should have been keeping in the A game as their other keeper didn’t have the best of games (with 8 going past him). Please see R.Wood report for the details. It was a tight first period as neither team was able to get any advantage. However, when S.Abbott and S.King had made an incorrect substitution, Abbott was sent to the bench as a result. With four on the field the diamond defence “T.Moore, S.Broome, N.Yeoh and J.Blades” never looked like conceding a goal. With Abbott returning to the field, Moore flicked one over the top of the defence, which was chased down by Blades, who put a magnificent pass across goal and when he combined with fellow Haleian, S.Abbott he put the ball into the back of the net. Revolution 1 – Dingoes 0. In the second period, Blades and King, were both given 2 minute penalties. Diffen received a monster cork and looked like playing no further part in the game. Sharks were not able to capitalise from the opposition’s weak defence. The third period began with King doing a hamstring inside the first five minutes leaving the team down to eight fit players. However, Diffen returned but had little impact on the game. With six minutes remaining the team was able to stop the run of the opposition and began to hold the ball in order to not allow the opposition to touch it. A.Baster passed backward to defender Yeoh and he found a small hole in their formation which he used to score a goal. Final Score: Revolution Sharks 2 – Dingoes
