Round 5 B’s Match Summary

// January 11th, 2010 // Season 2009/2010

This could be the grand final match-up! It was the closest game for the Sharks B so far this season. The first period was hard-fought but to no advantage for either team, or maybe a little to the disadvantage of the Sharks, as we scored an own-goal 3 minutes in.

The second period was far more up-beat, with Sharks winning the period 5-1 to take the score for the game to 5-2. Captain Steve Broome #19 got the ball rolling at 7mins58, assisted by Adrian Baster #6. He was followed shortly by Adrian who, at 9mins18 scored the second goal, assisted by Morgan Emms #7. Nicholas Yeoh #24 was the next of our players to shine in the limelight, scoring his first goal of the match unassisted at 11mins23. Kookas were then awarded a 2min bench penalty at 13mins12 for “Incorrect Hit” (K#28 Alistair McFayden), and one minute later Nick scored his second goal for the game assisted by Gaurav Ghosh #40. The Kookas rebutted with a goal from player #6, Richard Cram, assisted by #10 Leith Woods at 16mins24. The period ended on a high note thanks to Captain Steve Broome who scored his second goal, assisted by Nick at 18mins12.

The third period was slightly less of a scoring frenzy. Nick started the scoring at 10mins01, sealing himself a hat-trick for the game, once again an un-assisted goal. Well done Nick! Kookas weren’t so pleased, so they responded at 14mins09 with a goal scored by Richard Cram assisted by player #3 Pat Upton-Davies. It wasn’t long until the Sharks had the ball down their end of the court again, when at 16mins09 Nick scored again! (assist #6 Adrian Baster) And to finish it all off Captain Steve scored the final goal, also making a hat-trick of the game. (17mins27, assist #24 Nicholas Yeoh).
